Make Money and Avoid Scams

One of the pitfalls of making money -- especially when attempting to make money online -- is that there are thousands, if not tens of thousands, of scam artists trying to swindle you of your money. These scam artists take your hard-earned cash and do nothing in return but dampen and even destroy your hopes of ever making it big. If you want to make money but don't want to be cheated, try following the steps in this how-to.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Do your own research. One of the best ways to avoid a scam is simply not to give anyone money. No matter how great their product may seem at first glance, chances are you most likely can find that same information elsewhere, for free. Libraries, websites and forums are all places where you can obtain a wealth of knowledge on just about any subject. The best part is, it won't cost you a dime. That isn't to say that if there is a really good, legitimate product on the market, you shouldn't buy it, but rather, if you're already strapped for cash, you might want to reconsider, before you dropp a considerable sum of money on a product.

  2. Step 2

If you have found a product that you think has a lot of potential to help you in your money-making efforts, look up reviews. Do a search in Google, Yahoo, or wherever else for "[product name] scam". Chances are, if the product doesn't provide information on how to make a legitimate source of income, you'll find numerous results cautioning its readers not to make a purchase.

  3. Step 3

Find out what other entrepreneurs and business people are saying about the individual selling the product. Most experienced entrepreneurs have been around the block a few times and know who's legitimate and who's not. While there are some dishonest business people out there that you have to keep an eye out for, a lot of entrepreneurs are just everyday, average joes trying to get by just like you. If their readers or constituents seem to trust them and have a good relationship, then you can probably trust them. As always, however, be cautious, and check with multiple sources.

Tips & Warnings
  • Never give anyone your bank account number. Never transfer any amount of money to solicitors. No matter how convincing they may be; no matter how appealing their offer may seem; it's a scam.
