Create a pocket fold in your cloth napkins.

Wrapping silverware inside a cloth napkin adds a degree of elegance to any table. Whether you are planning a romantic evening for two, a dinner party or a wedding reception, this accessory shows your attention to detail. Select napkins that match the tablecloth or are a complementary color. This technique, called a pocket fold, is for square napkins. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Lay the napkin out flat on the table. Fold the bottom two corners up to make a rectangle with the fold across the bottom.

    • 2

Fold the napkin in half again by pulling the right side across to the left. The napkin should be square again, with a fold on the right side and at the bottom.

    • 3

Hold the top layer of the top left corner of the napkin. Fold it diagonally down to the bottom right corner, leaving the other layers flat.

    • 4

Flip the napkin over so the diagonal fold you just created is against the table. Fold in the left side toward the middle about one-third of the total width. Do the same with the right side.

    • 5

Flip the napkin back over carefully and slide the silverware into the pouch.
