Step 1
First find a square cloth napkin. Lay it out in front of you flat on the table. Any style or color of napkin will work, but generally it's best to try to match the tablecloth.
-
Step 2
Now take the top two corners and fold it down so the square has been folded in half. (Hot dog style) Take the right or the left side, and fold it in half again the opposite way (hamburger style). (It doesn't matter which way you fold it because it's a square napkin) You should now have a fourth of the original square.
-
Step 3
Orient the napkin so that the closed side (the side with the folds) is facing towards the right. To make things easier think of it like a book. If it was a book you would be looking at the back cover, and the fold would be at the bottom.
-
Step 4
Now take the top left corner of your napkin, (only take the top layer) and fold it diagonally down to the right. It looks similar to the picture, only yours will have two layers.
-
Step 5
Almost there, don't give up on me. Now you are ready to flip the napkin over. Fold in the left side towards the middle about 1/3 of the total length. Repeat the same process for the right side.
-
Step 6
Now flip over the napkin and slide in the silverware!
