Things You'll Need:
- PC or laptop, a little bit of uninterrupted time.
-
Step 1
Come up with a good headline. Most profiles have a heading for a title or greeting. Try to think of something that catches their attention and leads right into your profile. I met my husband on a very popular dating site and his heading was, "If you had 3 wishes...". Leaves you wanting to know more right?
-
Step 2
Relax! I've seen so many profiles that sounded stiff and generic. Try to imagine that you are actually having a conversation with someone instead of just writing about yourself. Use phrases that you would normally say, make it personal. That being said, don't feel that you have to tell someone every detail about yourself right there. What you enjoy, what turns you on or off,how you like to spend your time, your goals and dreams is a good place to start. Avoid generic terms like "I like to live life to the fullest." Tell them how! Like "Mountain biking and hiking are my passions"
-
Step 3
Be honest,be specific,be genuine. Let your personality shine through and you just might find that someone looking for you uniqueness. Good luck!

on 7/9/2009 Excellent advice, I especially like the point you made in step 2. Like you are having a conversation is the best way to write to someone. If everything is "I, I, I, I," then it is all about you and that is a big turnoff. Very good article....5*
