How to Wrap Long Hair

Long hair is beautiful and can be fun, but sometimes you need it out of the way. Following are instructions for wrapping long hair so that it's completely covered and out of your face. This is great for car rides with the windows down, painting, or hot days.

Things You'll Need:

• big scarf

1. 
   Before

   Open the scarf so that it's fully unfolded. Place the center of one of the long edges on your forehead at the hairline.

2. Making sure that all strands of hair are included, wrap the scarf around your head so that it meets at the base of your skull. Twist the scarf and the hair inside of it--it'll be like having a long, low ponytail.

3. 
   After

   This is the step that requires a bit of skill: Make a loop of the scarf/hair, and pass the end of the scarf through it. The result should be a simple knot. All of your hair should be covered, and the knot should hold the scarf in place.

Tips & Warnings

• If the scarf is too loose or too tight after you achieve the knot, you may need to undo it all and retry.
