Write a Valentine's Day Card
Write a Valentine's Day Card
Cherie Haines, 2009

Valentine's Day... that all important occasion when women's expectations are high and men start sweating buckets. What card to pick? Funny or romantic? And what to write inside? Here are some ideas to help.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

How long have you been going out? A month? Or have you been married for fifty years? This is really going to help you figure out what sort of card to pick, and what to write inside. A card for a new relationship should be breezy and light, while a long-term relationship can be more meaningful and sentimental.

  2. Step 2

When in doubt...buy two cards. That funny one is great, but the pretty one has a beautiful verse that you know will make her cry. Fork over the exra three bucks and get them both!

  3. Step 3

Choose something that appeals to her personality. If she loves animals, a teddy bear or a puppy is a great choice. If she likes gardening, flowers. What about music? Or pick a card with her favorite colors.

  4. Step 4

Now what to write inside? Unless you are very brave, you probably did not purchase a blank card. But even somthing that is covered in verse needs a personal touch. For a new relationship, again, keep it brief. How about, "I'm so glad we get to spend today together", or "I hope our love keeps growing". For a more long term relationship, copy a favorite poem or song lyrics into the card... just be sure to write the author so she doesn't think you're trying to pawn it off as your own!

  5. Step 5

How about describing how you felt when you first met her? How the first kiss tasted? How you never dreamed life could be so wonderful?
