How to Market an At Home Day Care Business

This is an article on how to market an At Home Day Care Business.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • You'll need a thorough understanding of the following terms:
  • day care center
  • child day care
  • state licensure
  1. Step 1

Step 1) Marketing an at home day care center is relatively easy. The first thing you need to do is come up with a marketing plan. It's a bad idea to just swing-from-the-hip when it comes to a marketing plan for your child day care. Set a goal for your marketing for your infant day care and then write down the different marketing tactics you're going to employ to get there. This is the first step in marketing your at home day care center.

  2. Step 2

Step 2) The second thing you need to do in marketing your infant and child day care is the actual dirty work. Guerrilla marketing is a pretty good method in the at home day care industry so make sure you take your flyers to all the pediatrician offices, dentist offices, toy stores, grocery stores, etc. People need to know you exist for your day care center to thrive.

  3. Step 3

Step 3) When your phone starts ringing, you need to sell. Make sure you sign day care customers up on a monthly or yearly contractual basis--not a weekly basis--to guarantee reoccurring consistent income for your fledgling at home child care business. Have a financial goal in mind and stick with it...through thick and thin.

on 7/7/2009 Great tips. I think most people probably miss the "marketing plan" part as the first step.
