Things You'll Need:
- patience
- A good ear
- A falsetto
-
Step 1
Find your falsetto. You can find this by going from the lowest voice you possibly can to the highest voice very slowly. While you do that, feel your neck. Does it feel really vibrational? That means you're in your chest voice. Go higher until you feel little (if any) vibration in your throat. That is your head voice. The falsetto is where it breaks. You can't hear or feel anything.
-
Step 2
Use the falsetto. When you yodel, try this. 'Little old la-DY who' in this format: Low-low-low-high-a little lower.
The caps is where your falsetto comes in. It makes your voice stop so you can go to a higher pitch. It comes out as a yodel. -
Step 3
Taylor Ware at 9 years old won the Yahoo! Yodeling Contest. She is about 17 now.Yodel away! Test yourself by singing along to Taylor Ware's 'He Taught Me to Yodel'. If you perfect that, you are ready for contests! Try to mix it up, so that you're not violating a copyright or something. Look on youtube for the lyrics (trust me, they're there)!
