Things You'll Need:
- Know what is tax free in participating states.
- Be prepared with a list of school supply needs.

Step 1
Back to School Supplies Savings – Save by Being Prepared
• Each state has a list of items that can be purchased tax-free during this time frame.
• Know what will be tax free and start writing a school supply list of items to shop for.
• Compare prices between local retail stores, drug stores, and on the Internet. Know who is offering the lowest prices.
• Establish a budget for school supplies for each child. Go over it with the kids so they have a say in what is purchased.
• Keep ads, flyers, and coupons for all stores. Many stores will honor their competitor’s sale prices.
• Know the hours the stores will be open and ensure that everyone that is going shopping will be available.
• Avoid the temptation to spend more since you will be saving money on back to school supplies. -
