Things You'll Need:
- calamine lotion
- poison ivy to treat
-
Step 1
Buy some calamine lotion. It can be found in most drugstores and if you cannot find it ask someone. Most workers are more than willing to show you where it is at.
-
Step 2
Clean the area infected with the poison ivy. Be careful to not break open the skin this will cause more itching and might leave scarring. I say use water but you can use soap and water just be careful.
-
Step 3
Pat dry the infected area with the poison ivy. Apply the calamine lotion and rub it in on the area with the poison ivy. This is imporant you want to rub it in not just apply it to the spots with the poison ivy.
-
Step 4
Do not itch the spots that way the calamine lotion can do it's thing. It should help with itching and give you a soothing feeling. I hope this helps someone with poison ivy and stops the itching and help promote healing.

Out of everything else I've ever used, calamine lotion does work the best.
