You and your friend are getting ready to go and play basketball. You are definitely going to put on an ankle brace for support to keep from twisting your ankle. You have never hurt it before, but you want to make sure that it does not happen. Your friend, Jim, though uses it because of previous injuries. In fact, he will not participate in any sport-related activity without his ankle brace. Below are the steps you took in putting on your ankle brace.

  1. Step 1

    First – you start above the ankle and wrap two times around.

  2. Step 2

    Second- take the ankle brace down under the arch of the foot. Remember to keep the heel exposed.

  3. Step 3

    Third – start crisscrossing back and fro across the ankle.

  4. Step 4

    Fourth – continue to crisscross around the ankle.

  5. Step 5

    Fifth – now – go underneath the arch of your foot. Bring the wrap back across the ankle.

  6. Step 6

    Sixth- continue to crisscross around the ankle. Make sure it is not too tight; otherwise, it will cut off your circulation.

  7. Step 7

    Seventh – As you get closer to the end of your wrap, wrap it around the ankle at least twice. Use a safety pin or an ACE Wrap securing pin to secure the wrap in place.
