Remote control allows the user to take control of their home computer while traveling at another location. It should be an easy process to connect with a windows XP computer that has built in remote access even without downloading new remote control software. Here is how to gain access to your own home computer when away.

  • Computer
  • Internet Connection
  1. Step 1

    On the home computer go to Start, right click My computer, select properties, then select the remote tab. Place a check in the box that says allow users to connect remotely on this computer.

  2. Step 2

    Next to gain remote control to the remote enabled home
    computer while away from the home location click start button, all programs, accessories, communications, remote desktop connections. Enter the remote computers IP address or URL and click connect.

  3. Step 3

    Enter your log in name and password click OK. Click Yes to connect. Soon the login computer will display a log in screen. You now have remote control of the computer.
