How to Use Parchment Paper

Parchment paper helps you save time in the kitchen. It is used to line baking sheets and pans to provide a non-stick finish. You will no longer need to soak and scrape burned on food from your baking sheets when you use parchment paper. It can be used when baking cookies, cakes, and breads.   • Parchment paper

Instructions

      Cut off a sheet of parchment paper large enough to cover your baking sheet without excess hanging over the edge. For cake pans, cut a sheet to fit on the bottom of the pan.

      Pour your batter into the pan onto the parchment or drop the cookie dough onto th parchment lined baking sheet. Cook as usual.

      Drop the second batch of cookies onto a second sheet of parchment paper while the first batch bakes.

      Remove the pan from the oven when the baking time is over. Slide the parchment paper, cookies still on it, directly onto the baking rack. Cakes can be removed from the pan as usual once they cool.

      Lift the parchment holding the second batch of cookies and place it on the now empty baking sheet. You do not need to clean the sheet between batches. Cake pans will need to be washed before pouring more batter in.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not allow the parchment paper to touch the heating element, oven sides, or oven rack; it may scorch or burn.
