How to Make Homer Simpson Eyes With Ping Pong Balls

Homer Simpson is one of the main characters on the animated television show, The Simpsons. Creating a Homer Simpson costume is rather easy as Homer nearly always wears a white shirt and blue pants. However, adding the finishing touch of large round eyes, a characteristic common to many characters on The Simpsons, will help you distinguish yourself as Homer Simpson rather than an average guy wearing a white shirt and blue pants.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• Ping Pong ball
• Serrated knife
• Sandpaper
• Cordless drill
• Black marker
• Spirit gum

1. Cut the ping pong ball in half with a serrated knife.

2. Use the sandpaper to sand away any rough edges on the cut edge of the ping pong ball halves. These edges will be pressed against your face so they should be smooth.

3. Set the ping pong balls on a flat surface, cut side down. Use the cordless drill to drill a small hole in the center of each ping pong ball half. The drill bit 7/32 or a similar size will work well for this. The holes will allow you to see while wearing the Homer Simpson eyes.

4. Draw a circle around the hole in the ping pong ball with a black marker to create the pupil of Homer's eye. Start with a small circle, as you can always make the pupil a little bigger later on.

5. Apply spirit gum to the cut edges of the ping pong ball eyes.

6. Place the Homer Simpson eyes over your eyes and press them down until the spirit gum has adhered to your face.
