Step 1
Remove the infected boot disk from your computer if it is still inserted. Navigate your web browser to the link inside the Resources section for the AVG anti-virus web page. Download and then install the AVG program if your computer does not already have an anti-virus utility.

Open up the "Start" menu and then choose the "Restart" option. Wait for your computer to reach the restart screen that shows the logo of your computer's manufacturer. Press the "F8" key repeatedly until a new list of options appears on the screen.

Opening Safe ModeNavigate down to the "Safe Mode" option and then press the "Enter" key. Open up the Start menu again once the operating system has finished restarting. Click on the "Control Panel" option.

The "System Protection" IconScroll down to the "System" icon and double-click on it. Click on the "System Protection" button at the far left side of the screen. Un-check each of the check boxes underneath the "Automatic System Restore" heading.

Turning off the System Restore OptionClick on "Apply" to turn off the System Restore feature. Minimize the System Protection window. Return to the Start menu and click on the Search feature.

The Search BoxType "hurri" into the search field. Right-click each of the Hurri virus files that appear and then choose the "Delete" option. Search for "Regedit" once you have finished deleting the files.

Opening up the Registry Editor WindowDouble-click the icon for the registry editor file. Call up the registry editor's search function by pressing "Ctrl" and "F" at the same time. Search for "hurri" and then delete each of the registry entries that appears.

Step 8
Updating the Virus Detection InformationExit the registry editor's window. Open your computer's anti-virus software. Run the program's update feature by clicking on the "Update Now" option. Wait for the updates to finish downloading and then click on "Computer Scan."

Scanning for the Hurri VirusChoose the "Scan Entire Computer" option. Click on "Remove Problems" when the scan is done running.

Return to the "System Protection" window and turn the system restore feature back on. Restart your computer to finish removing the Hurri virus.
