How to Use the Graco Pack N Play

A Graco Pack N Play is a system that includes a large play yard, a bassinet insert designed for newborns and a removable changing table attachment. These playpens are useful as portable changing and sleeping stations and are easy to use. Parents are urged to use the Graco Pack N Play in accordance with manufacturer recommendations, as proper use will ensure the safety and well-being of babies while they are using the various components of the Graco Pack N Play.

Instructions

Assembling the Playpen

1. Stand the folded playpen, right side up, on the floor.

2. Begin to move the legs apart to straighten out the side bars between the legs. Do not push down on the center of the playpen yet.

3. Snap each side bar into position. After all four side bars have been locked into place, push down on the center of the playpen floor until it is fully unfolded.

4. Place the mattress pad in the bottom of the playpen with the soft side of the pad facing up. Fasten the mattress pad securely into place by inserting the tabs on the bottom of the mattress into the corresponding slots on the floor of the playpen and pressing them securely to attach the Velcro.

5. Fold the playpen back up by first unfastening the two mattress tabs and removing the mattress pad. Pull the bottom of the playpen up by grasping the loop in the center of the playpen floor. At the halfway point, lift the side rails up a little and press the button on each side rail to fold them; in doing so, the entire playpen will fold.

6. Fold the mattress pad around the collapsed playpen with the bottom side of the pad facing out. Fasten the Velcro tabs in the corresponding loops. Use the handle on the outside of the mattress pad or the carrying case to transport the Pack N Play.

Adding the Bassinet or the Changing Table

1. Remove the mattress pad from the bottom of the playpen. You will need to do this to use either attachment (bassinet or changing table).

2. To attach the bassinet, slide the metal support tubes through the sides of the bassinet and place the bassinet into the playpen, attaching it to the top side edges of the playpen.

3. To attach the changing table, slide the metal support tubes through the sides of the changing table. All of the tubes should snap together. Push the two mounting tubes down into the two open holes found on one side of the playpen's top edge.

Tips & Warnings

• Keep all blankets, pillows or extra padding out of the bassinet or the playpen with the baby.

• Only use the Graco mattress pad for your particular Pack N Play model.

• Always place babies on their backs to sleep.

• Supervise a baby on the changing table, in the bassinet and in the playpen at all times.

• The changing table is not for sleeping.

• Do not use the changing table with babies over 25 lbs. Use the playpen for babies under 30 lbs. Do not use the bassinet for babies over 15 lbs. or for babies able to push up onto their hands and knees.

• Never use the playpen when any of the sides are lowered.

• Remove the changing table before placing a child in either the bassinet or the playpen to prevent suffocation or strangulation.

• Never place a child in the playpen when the bassinet is in position.

• Never place more than one child in any of the components at the same time.
