How to Clean Ping Pong Tables

Ping pong, also known as table tennis, is a sport where two to four players hit a ball back and forth over a net. It is similar to the game of tennis, but on a much smaller scale. People often eat and drink near their ping pong tables as well as touch them on a regular basis. This can cause the ping pong table to become quite dirty. hankfully, cleaning your ping pong table is easy.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Remove the net from your ping pong table and set aside. Most ping pong nets are screwed into the table. Simply unscrew the net by hand or with a screwdriver if necessary.

  2. Step 2

    Mix one part vinegar to one part water directly into your bowl.

  3. Step 3

    Mix the vinegar mixture well with a spoon or with your hands. Because vinegar is not a harsh chemical, your skin will be safe.

  4. Step 4

    Submerge your wash cloth into the vinegar mixture and wring out well. You want your wash cloth to be saturated but not sopping wet.

  5. Step 5

    Wipe down your ping pong table using your wash cloth. Wipe in a circular motion making sure to get everywhere.

  6. Step 6

    Wet your second wash cloth and wipe down your pool table once more. This will wipe away any vinegar that may be on your table. Allow to air dry.

  7. Step 7

    Rinse out your bowl and wash cloth.

  8. Step 8

    Prepare another mixture of one part vinegar to one part water into your bowl.

  9. Step 9

    Submerge your ping pong net into the bowl and allow to set for 15 minutes.

  10. Step 10

    Remove your ping pong net from the vinegar mixture and rinse with water.

  11. Step 11

    Wring out any moisture that the net may contain and lay flat to dry. Reassemble once the net has dried completely.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can purchase cleaner specifically made for ping pong tables. While it is not necessary, it is available.
  • Do not dry your ping pong net in your dryer. This can shrink the net.
