How to Ride a Flowboard

At first glance, the flowboard may seem like the fantasy doodlings of a skater. In actuality, the 14-wheel board, consisting of 2 7-wheeled arches as opposed to the 2 2-wheel trucks of a skateboard, provides a truly unique boarding experience that must be tried to be believed.

      Choose the ideal board size for you. The 32-inch model is ideal for tricks, and is the easiest transition for skateboarders. The 36-inch board is the ideal fit for riders looking to cruise, and is the easiest transition for snowboarders and surfers. The 42-inch board is an advanced board, best suited for experienced flowboarders.

      Push off the ground with your back foot while your front foot is in position to begin moving on your flowboard.

      Bring both feet onto the board in a comfortable stance. If you are a skateboarder, a stance similar to your skateboarding stance is ideal. If you have not boarded before, stand with your feet about shoulder width apart, with your feet running perpendicular to the board's path.

      Lean back on your heels with your butt out, while leaning your upper body forward to maintain balance, to start carving to your heelside.

      Lean forward onto your toes, with your hips out and your back arched to maintain balance, to carve to your toeside.

      Repeat Steps 4 and 5 to maintain momentum.

Tips & Warnings

  • Always wear the appropriate safety equipment, including a helmet and knee and elbow pads, when flowboarding.
