Microsoft PowerPoint is a great program used to create slide-show-style presentations. However, if the slide show is created and then needs to be shown off of a computer that does not have PowerPoint installed on it, it will not function properly because the operating system won't understand the file type without the software installed. To avoid this problem, the PowerPoint presentation can be converted to a video format and then burned onto a DVD.

Instructions

The Steps

1. Follow the link to the AuthorStream website by clicking on the link provided in the Resources section. This site lets users upload their PowerPoint presentations and then the site converts them to MP4 (MPEG-4) video format.

2. Sign up for a free account and then upload the PowerPoint presentation.

3. Click the MP4 link and the PowerPoint presentation will download to the computer as an MP4 video.

4. Launch Nero DVD player. Drag the PowerPoint MP4 video into the main screen.

5. Insert the blank DVD into the computer's DVD burner

6. Title the DVD and then click "Burn." The Nero DVD system will now burn the PowerPoint Video onto a DVD
