Set the Page Margins in Microsoft Word

Microsoft Word gives you the ability to set a range of page setups by simply altering the margins on the page. This can be accomplished in just a few steps.

By being able to adjust the margins you can set your document up to print to an infinite number of sizes regardless of the paper size that you have loaded in your printer.

Here is how you set and change the page margins in Microsoft Word.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Launch Microsoft Word. No need to load a document. You can just use the default blank document that loads when you open Microsoft Word.

  2. Step 2

From the main menu at the top select "File" then select "Page Setup" from the submenu that appears as shown in the picture associated with this step.

  3. Step 3

When the "Page Setup" window appears, select the "Margin" tab and in the top portion you will see a section labeled margins. They are measured in inches. You can set them to whatever you want as long is the number is greater than zero. If you take a look at the picture associated with this step, you will see that I have circled it in red.
