Step 1
Check the specifications prior to install. The minimum system requirements to use KidPix include the following: Mac OS X 10.1.5 or later, G3-266 MHz processor or faster, 192 MB of RAM, 800 x 600 screen resolution and 180 MB of hard disk space.

Step 2
Use iLife with KidPix. One of the main features of KidPix is that you integrate the features with iLife. To do this, choose "Import" from the main menu. You can then grab a single from an iLife movie. Once you make edits to the image, choose "Export." This will send the edited image back into the iLife video.

Step 3
Plug in a microphone while using KidPix software. Use the mic jack to record sounds and add them to your uploaded digital photos. To access this feature, select "Sounds" from the main menu. Under the "Sounds" menu, you can also import songs from iTunes to add to your pictures.

Step 4
Pick colors from the "Color Picker" in KidPix. Choose one of the icons from the cursor to access different art mediums. Options include spray paint, paint brush and color pencil. Once you click on the icon that you want to use, select one of the color circles from the "Color Picker" to start drawing on your photos with the editing tool.

Step 5
Email your edited KidPix pictures. Click on "File" at the top of the page after you have finished your edits. Choose "Send KidPix Page by Email" and then enter the recipient's information to instantly mail the picture.
