      Buy H2O2 hot tub cleaner or sanitizer from a pool and spa store. It may also be advertised as hydrogen peroxide cleaner.

      Measure 1/4 to 1/2 cup of H2O2 cleaner into a cup for every 100 gallons of water your hot tub holds. Pour directly into the water for regular sanitizing.

      Apply a maintenance dose of cleaner up to 10 minutes before getting into the tub. Pour in 1/8 cup of H2O2 cleaner per 100 gallons to ensure the hot tub doesn't become bacteria-laden while people are inside.

      Perform regular sanitizing once a week if the water is not drained during that period. Perform maintenance immediately after getting out if the heater will be kept on while the tub is empty.

Tips & Warnings

  • Rinse ofF in a shower before getting in the tub to rinse away body oils and dirt that may help bacteria breed.

  • Follow manufacturer's directions before using H2O2 cleaner. Hydrogen peroxide can cause skin burns if not used properly.
