Autodesk AliasStudio is a suite of software from Autodesk that includes Autodesk Alias Design, Autodesk Alias Surface and Autodesk Alias Automotive. Autodesk Alias Design can be used for the creation and design of a product or idea. Autodesk Alias Surface is used to do 3-D surface modeling and reverse engineering. And Autodesk Alias Automotive is used for automotive styling and design purposes. If you need to learn Autodesk AliasStudio, you will not find any tutorials on the Internet for beginners that doesn't assume prior knowledge. Instead, you will need to use a book and some specific DVDs to learn Autodesk AliasStudio.

Obtain the book "Learning Design with Alias StudioTools" by Alias Learning Tools or view it on Scribd (see Resources below). This is the official getting-started guide for beginners from the makers of Autodesk AliasStudio.

Get started in "Learning Design with Alias StudioTools" by learning about modeling with primitives. Then read about additive, subtractive and industrial design. Get some pointers on texturing effects before moving on to learn about transportation design and the basics of animation in Autodesk AliasStudio.

Build on what you have learned about modeling by purchasing the DVD "Modeling Essentials with Studio Tools" from The Gnomon Workshop (see Resources below). This DVD covers everything about modeling with Autodesk AliasStudio. You will learn about curve and surface anatomy, how to create a surface, projection, trimming techniques, coordinates and surface evaluation.

Work on learning how to render high-quality images by purchasing the DVD "Product Design Rendering Essentials" from The Gnomon Workshop (see Resources below). This DVD will teach you how to consider things like lighting, reflection and depth of field when rendering an image with Autodesk AliasStudio.
