How to Use Emulators on Xbox

Microsoft's Xbox offers a wide array of games. But if you're tired of playing the games that are only available for your Xbox system, you don't have to go out and buy a new console. Emulators can give your Xbox the ability to behave like many other popular gaming systems, and play some of their most popular games. Emulators that are available for the Xbox system include Atari, Nintendo, Super Nintendo and Sega.

Instructions

    • 1

Download the emulator or emulators of your choice. Emulators are available on several gaming websites. Just click on the emulator link and choose Save to download it to your system. Place all of the Emulators into the same folder on your hard drive.

    • 2

Choose ROMs for your emulators. There are separate ROMs available for each emulator, and they can be downloaded from several different ROM sites. Make a new folder inside the folder where you've stored your emulators and name it ROMs. Place all game ROMs inside this folder.

    • 3

Download and install Qwix ISO software. You must have Qwix to turn your separate emulator and ROM files into a single ISO file that will burn to a DVD. Qwix creates xISOs that your Xbox will recognize.

    • 4

Open Qwix and click Create ISO from the left-hand menu. Click the button with three dots next to Local Folder to locate the folder that contains your emulators and ROMs. Select the folder and click OK. This will pull the entire folder into the Quix program. Click the Create ISO button at the bottom of the screen to convert the folder of emulators and ROMs into an ISO file. You'll be prompted to select where you would like your ISO files to be saved. A few seconds later you'll get a pop-up telling you that the ISO has been created.

    • 5

Burn the ISO file to the DVD-R. To burn, open a DVD-writing program, such as Nero, and place a blank disk in the DVD drive in your computer. Add the ISO file to the project and burn the disc.

    • 6

Place the DVD-R with the emulators and ROMs into the drive of your Xbox. Press the eject button to close the tray and the disc will load. The emulators and games can be played directly from the disc.
