How to Buy Baby Food Internationally
So you've finally decided to take that trip you've long been planning, but you're worried that your little one is going to have to eat fried octopus or tripe. Not to worry, baby food is available in every country in the world, and supermarkets exist in France just as they do in the United States and Canada. We're all human, and we all start out on baby food, so fortunately, baby food is available for consumption just about anywhere on this planet. Even more fortunate, known brands in the United States and Canada like Gerber, Nestle and Heinz are available in dozens of countries world wide. But if the "big three" aren't available in your destination of choice, not to worry---your little one won't starve.

Expect to find different different foods in foreign locales, but Gerber Baby Food is available in many countries outside the United States---including Mexico, Canada, Poland, Brazil, Venezuela and Russia.

2
Look for Heinz and Nestle to be the most common recognizable brand names in other countries. Heinz baby food is the number one seller in Canada, but is also available in 17 countries across the globe.

If you are traveling to a country where Heinz, Gerber and Nestle are not sold, use the Internet to search for the baby food options in your particular country. Sometimes the best way to do that is to visit the brand's website (For example, Heinz's website in the United States is heinz.com, but Heinz's website in England is heinz.co.uk). A quick click of the mouse can show you that Heinz is sold in the United Kingdom and in fact, Heinz baby food is sold not only in England, but in Scotland and Ireland as well. The abbreviation of the country replaces the .com in many cases.

When in doubt, ask the concierge or hotel clerk, airport personnel or server at the restaurant where you are dining. All children must eat, regardless of where they live. Wherever you are traveling, you will surely be able to find food for your children. If the "big three" baby food companies don't produce food in your destination, just ask a helpful native.

Tips & Warnings
Don't just show up at your destination without first knowing which brands of baby food are sold, and in what department store or supermarket chains. Further research will tell you what the contents and ingredients are of the food; make sure the food purchased abroad is not inconsistent with what you've been feeding your baby at home.
