How to Find Free Job Postings
It's usually not necessary to spend money to read job ads or pay admission to a job fair when looking for a job. While there are several resources on the Internet that charge for access to job postings, there are plenty of other places to scan available postings for free. Some job sites are well-known and list jobs for any industry, while others are geared toward select groups of job-seekers.

Register on Monster.com. One of the most well-known job sites on the Internet, Monster allows users to search jobs by state and by industry. Job-seekers can store resumes online to allow recruiters to view them. Jobs you have applied for will be saved to your account, and you also can save your job-search parameters.

Go to Craigslist. Craigslist.org is available only for major cities, but within each of those cities there usually are several new jobs posted each day in multiple industries. The "Gigs" section on Craigslist also is a good place for musicians, photographers and other freelancers to find jobs.

Try Mandy.com for film industry jobs. Mandy.com lists casting calls for actors, as well as all levels of crew jobs, such as lighting designers, cinematographers and production assistants.

Search for government jobs at Government Job Search (www.FederalJobSearch.com). The database on Government Job Search lists jobs at all levels of government, from local to federal. Register for free and receive full access to the job database and free updates by email when jobs in your field are listed.

Find executive and managerial positions paying $100,000 or more at TheLadders.com. The Ladders requires users to set up accounts before accessing job listings. Unlimited access to the listings must be purchased, but there is a free, limited-access account that comes with a weekly newsletter.
