In a Galaxy far far away Johnny turned 7!
A Star Wars party is an exciting way to celebrate a kids birthday. Costumes, light sabers and space decor! Let's GO!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • themed party supplies
  • your imagination
  1. Step 1

Choose a date and time and get out your invite's
*Evite is always an easy choice and you can add your own pics
*Or be more creative use star stationary and print the words down the middle of it like the rolling type at the beginning of the films
    Chapter 6
Long long ago in a galaxy far far away Johnny was born
    etc.
*make red and blue light sabre's out of construction paper and print on the back

  2. Step 2

    Plan games and activities
*Have kids dress as their favorite Star Wars character
*while waiting for guests to arrive have an asteroid scavenger hunt
wrap small toys in clumps of tinfoil, make them different sizes and hide them, have each kid find one of each size around the house while waiting for the party to start.
    *Jedi training exercises
have a light sabre competition, make them catch a hoop on the end, keep a balloon in the air for 5 hits,
shoot a nerf gun at darth vader after you hit him rescue princess lea(several pictures of lea printed from the computer and hung from a tree by yarn)
Destroy the death star--draw a huge picture of the death star with sidewalk chalk on the driveway, fill a ton of water balloons and let the kid take turns pelting the death star with the water balloons until it disintegrates.
*I always end a party with a piñata, several starwars piñatas are available at party stores

  3. Step 3

    Favors and Food
*Options abound for commercially made Starwars birthday favors, plates, and treats at party stores
*Chocolate covered pretzel light sabres--Dip 3/4 of a big pretzel stick in colored melting chocolate and cover the remaining end in tinfoil, use red, blue and green chocolate pieces
*We had a fantastic Millennium Falcon cake made, if you do not have access to a cake person most bakeries have starwars options.
    * You can find amazing things on eBay! I found a lot of 12 Taco Bell starwars toys still in the package with really interesting favor boxes included
*Easy light sabre favors can be made from swim noodles purchased at the $ store. Get red, blue and green swim noodles, cut them in half, wrap one end of each half with duct tape. TaDa cheap light sabre, fewer injuries!

  4. Step 4

    Decorations and Atmosphere
*Stars stars and more stars, cover the party room with them, create a galaxy with them hanging from the ceiling amongst silver ribbon and dark blue streamers
*use dark blue dollar store table clothes covered in different sized star stickers to hang from the ceiling and cover tables with to create the space atmosphere
*Don't forget the movie sound track, pick it up on itunes
