It's an addiction that many of us have, soda drinks are one of the worst beverages you could ever consume. With the caffeine intake - they are highly addictive and loaded with calories and sugar. Studies have shown that if you cut back on soda you can loose 10-15lbs a year - not mention cut out bloating. So, if your thinking about cutting down on the number of sodas to drink, your on the right path!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Alright, so your addicted to soda? If you are, chances are your also addicted to the amount of caffeine you consume from soda. So, if you want to stop drinking soda, you must first wing yourself off your caffeine addiction. Start buying sodas that are caffeine-free. This is a good way to still have your ice cold Pepsi, but without the addicting caffeine that you crave. If you do this for a few weeks, you will notice that you drink it the same way you would regular soda - only your body isn't feeling the caffeine loss anymore.

  2. Step 2

Once you have winged yourself off of the caffeine, you can start cutting out the soda. Since most people only crave pop drinks because of the caffeine - your one step ahead. Now, it's all in your mind. You need to start tricking yourself into drinking something else than soda. Start to fill up your old Pepsi, Sprite or other soda bottles up with juice or something else non-carbonated. When you want something to drink, just pour it out of your soda bottle (because you grab it out of habit) and drink that instead.

  3. Step 3

Every time you start to want soda, drink a full glass of water. Add lemon slices to give it flavor. You could also use a flavored water mix such as Crystal Light to give yourself some flavor.

  4. Step 4

Start to drink milk! It's good for your whole body with half the calories of soda. Instead of regular milk, make yourself some chocolate milk. Now, who could say no to chocolate-ly goodness? No one!

  5. Step 5

If your at work, take a thermos or cup you can fill with water instead of going straight to the vending machines for a Pepsi. You may think it won't work, but water actually gives you more of a boost than caffeine will - plus you'll save your change!

Tips & Warnings
  • If you drink soda regularly - never quit cold turkey! All that will do is give you an awful migraine that will last days. Cut back first.
