How to Make a Pedestal Dessert Plate
Whether you bring a dessert to a dinner party or host a dinner party of your own, displaying the dessert correctly can make it more appealing and eye-catching. Your dessert will make a statement when it is presented on a pedestal dessert plate. This type of platter is perfect to serve your desserts on and it even makes a beautiful centerpiece. You can create your own using candle holders and plates.

Select a candle holder and a plate to make your pedestal dessert platter with. Both of these objects can be any style or made of any material depending on your taste. Choose the size of your candle holder based on the size of your plate and the weight of your dessert.

Use the hot glue gun to put a layer of glue on the top of the candle holder.

Place the plate right-side up onto top the candle holder. Make sure the plate is centered.

Push down on the plate to secure it in place. Let the glue dry.

Place your dessert on top of the plate and set it out for serving.

Tips & Warnings
If the candle holder you choose is made of clear glass, you can fill it with potpourri, fake flowers or other decorative items.
Wooden candle holders and plates can be painted or stained using nontoxic paint.
For taller pedestals, use vases instead of candle holders.
