Step 1
Try to downsize if you can. If you are traveling with 3-4 people and 2 are small kids consider a one-bedroom condo with a bunk area. Many will have an additional sofa bed for extra room.
-
Step 2
Look for condo owners offering free beach chairs. Rentals add up and this is a great benefit.
-
Step 3
Plan to make your own meals most of the time. Condos without onsite restaurant are generally less expensive.
-
Step 4
Most private vacation rental homes offer considerably more space, which is a great value over a hotel already. Check out VRBO.com for a listing of over 120,000 vacation rentals to choose from. There is a price range for most budgets here.
-
Step 5
Look for family resorts offering an ASI card or Amenity card. Along with the price of your condo you will receive free tickets and offers to area movie rentals, entertainment, and dining. For Destin Fl. checkout The Islander Condos on Holiday Isle for examples of the great discounts you can receive. http://www.islander-resort.com/floridavacationpackages.htm

Step 6
Go a bit off beach. Your cost per night will decrease if you are willing to walk or drive to the beach.
