Arthritis is a painful condition to live with when the breakdown of cartilage causes the bones to rub against each other, causing stiffness, pain and loss of movement in the joint. To help ease the symptoms naturally try these tips.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    PEPPERMINT OIL -

This oil is one of the pain-relieving ingredients in creams like BenGay. Apply it directly to the aching area and rub in gently. It smells better then BenGay and works great.

  2. Step 2

GO OUT IN THE SUN -

Step outside into the sunlight for about ten minutes without any sunscreen on. Do this every other day to help slow the progress of arthritis. Studies have proven that vitamin D which you do get through sun exposure works to slow down the progress of arthritis. Just remember only bout 10 minutes without the sunscreen! Sunscreen works to protect us against the suns rays and will not allow our skin to absorb vitamin D.

  3. Step 3

    STRETCH -

Stretching the tight muscles near inflamed joints increases blood flow and in return helps relieve pain. It will hurt when you are stretching so do it slowly and repeat about three times a day. You will notice an improvement in a couple of weeks. Stick with it it will pay off. Pay special attention to where it really hurts and carefully stretch this area.

  4. Step 4

    TAKE A WARM BATH -

A nice warm bath can help to loosen your joints and relax you. Relax for awhile in the bath and just allow the warmness to help sooth the aches and pains. If you do not have time to take a bath then try using a heating device or wrap on the area to ease the pain.

  5. Step 5

    TAKE SUPPLEMENTS -

It is proven that both glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate work to help relieve arthritis. They both work in great ways to help the disease from taking over. Of course talk to your doctor about adding them into your routine. You can take 1,500 milligrams glucosamine and 1,200 milligrams chondroitin sulfate. You can often buy them combined in medication.

  6. Step 6

    DRINK TEA -

Nettle plant’s leaves have been shown to help relieve the aches and pains associated with arthritis. Simply pour 2/3 cup boiling water over three to four teaspoons dried leaves or root. You can buy this leave at health food stores or online. Then drink. This leave contains anti-inflammatory agents histamine and formic acid which help to reduce the aches and pains.

  7. Step 7

    MASSAGE -

Gently massage the aching area with an over the counter topical cream that contains .025 percent capsaicin. The capsaicin helps to numb the aching joints by blocking the neurochemical that allows you to feel pain. So once you rub it in, you should instantly feel some relief.
