Looking for a new tasty way to cook chicken? Well, this recipe will give ‘finger lickin’ good’ a whole new meaning! I have tried it and the results were awesome! The chicken comes out juicy and tasty. I also used the same marinate with pork chops and fish. I find it to be a great salt substitute that gives me a tasty dinner meat. So, if you are trying to stay away from salt due to hypertension or something like that, try this recipe. You will enjoy my zesty Italian baked chicken.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 bottle Italian Salad Dressing (or enough to cover chicken)
  • Chicken (cut)
  • Black pepper
  • Baking dish
  • Oven
  1. Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. Step 2

Mix Italian dressing, brown sugar and garlic powder in a bowl. You can substitute honey for brown sugar if you prefer. I have used both and still enjoy the taste.

  3. Step 3

Wash and clean the chicken pieces as required. Sprinkle chicken with Italian seasoning and black pepper to taste.

  4. Step 4

For a zesty Italian taste, place seasoned pieces in Italian dressing mixture and let marinate for approximately 45 minutes.

  5. Step 5

Place the chicken in a baking dish. Baste the chicken with the Italian dressing marinate and bake in oven for 15 minutes. Turn pieces over, baste again and cook for another 15 minutes.

  6. Step 6

Test chicken for done-ness. Add marinate (as desired), cover dish and let cook until done.

  7. Step 7

Serve your zesty Italian baked chicken with white or seasoned rice and vegetables.
