Step 1
INGREDIENTS
1 Whole chicken
4 tablespoons Lawry's season salt
2 teaspoons garlic powder
Thyme
2 tablespoons paprika
2 tablespoons ground black pepper
1 - 2 cups Buttermilk
1/2 cup Self-rising flour
1/2 cup Breadcrumbs
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 cup of cooking oil / deep fryer
Salt
Vinegar -
Step 2
Cut up chicken into eight pieces, clean off fat and skin and wash with vinegar. Place chicken pieces into a plastic container and cover with buttermilk. Cover and refrigerate for 12 to 24 hours.

Step 3
Remove chicken from container and season with Lawry's seasoning salt, garlic powder, black pepper and paprika

Step 4
Combine self-rising flour and bread crumbs, sugar, salt and crush thyme in a zip lock bag or plastic container.

Step 5
Dip chicken pieces in flour mixture and shake off excess.

Step 6
Heat oil or deep fryer on medium, and then place pieces of chicken. The oil should come half way up the pan

Step 7
Fry each side, approximately 12 to 15 minutes per side on medium heat

Step 8
Use paper towel to dry of excess. Serve warm
