Make Delicious and Juicy Fried Chicken

Fried Chicken is an American favorite meal, and can be eaten with just about anything. Fried chicken should be juicy, soft and delicious. Follow this recipe for the perfect juicy fried chicken.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    INGREDIENTS
    1 Whole chicken
    4 tablespoons Lawry's season salt
    2 teaspoons garlic powder
    Thyme
    2 tablespoons paprika
    2 tablespoons ground black pepper
    1 - 2 cups Buttermilk
    1/2 cup Self-rising flour
    1/2 cup Breadcrumbs
    1 tablespoon brown sugar
    1 cup of cooking oil / deep fryer
    Salt
    Vinegar

  2. Step 2

    Cut up chicken into eight pieces, clean off fat and skin and wash with vinegar. Place chicken pieces into a plastic container and cover with buttermilk. Cover and refrigerate for 12 to 24 hours.

  3. Step 3

    Remove chicken from container and season with Lawry's seasoning salt, garlic powder, black pepper and paprika

  4. Step 4

    Combine self-rising flour and bread crumbs, sugar, salt and crush thyme in a zip lock bag or plastic container.

  5. Step 5

    Dip chicken pieces in flour mixture and shake off excess.

  6. Step 6

    Heat oil or deep fryer on medium, and then place pieces of chicken. The oil should come half way up the pan

  7. Step 7

    Fry each side, approximately 12 to 15 minutes per side on medium heat

  8. Step 8

    Use paper towel to dry of excess. Serve warm
