Well, its that time of the year. Tons of people are bombarding the boardwalks and shores for vacations and weekend getaways. Shopping is most evident and its always important to get a great deal on what you want. At the boardwalk, here's eHow to get deals on those sought after items!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Those boardwalk shops are really a dime a dozen. And most of them have a number of the same items if not quite similar. Case in point, my daughter wanted a Michael Jackson memorial t-shirt. What to do first? Find an area of the boardwalk that has a number of those little shops.

  2. Step 2

Next you want to find the shirt that you actually want. This is totally up to you. Size, color, design, etc. YOU decide.

  3. Step 3

Most things on the boardwalk are already cheap, however you want CHEAPER! An average t-shirt on the boardwalk will go for about 15-20$. The MJ t-shirt my daughter wanted was $25. The older shop workers tend to be the owner/operator. Find them and ask them to get the size and color and design t-shirt that you want. Ask how much, and when they tell you, look surprised and/or disgusted.

  4. Step 4

Flat out tell them that you can get the same if not similar, or would settle for a different t-shirt at a shop only a few steps away for less. Give them a number which will further encourage them to deal. In most cases the seller will want you business and not want you to go elsewhere. Sure enough did I get that t-shirt for $15.

Now of course i did lose that $10 trying to shoot those 3 blocks off the pedestal with the baseball gun...all to get my wife a little lizard. You win some, you lose some. Happy deal making!!

Tips & Warnings
  • don't offer names of the shops you refer to with better deals. often the one shop owner owns a few of the same shops in the area. i've been caught by this.
  • not always will you get a deal, if you want it bad, get it. if not, move on and play another day.
