Step 1
Start a Biz:- This may sound little bit harder, as many of you have realized by now. But think of benefits you might get, if nothing at least start gaining knowledge how to start one. Major sources who can help you understand could be someone from family, but for complete and reliable information you must seek it through government websites. The knowledge you would be gaining will be beneficial in coming future as well. Try understanding these things: What licenses and permissions are required to start certain business? Find a niche- a place where you(or your business) can come and do work much more efficiently and cheaply. What are state laws regarding small business? What is business start up plan? How Currency works? Taxes and etc? Also, familiarize your self with terms; Start up cost, upfront cost, franchise, and corporation. You think you know them think again, there is more than meets the eye. Do your research, either by going in library reading books on it or surfing web. Here are some websites just made for us to help us in starting our own business, these are no spam:-
>teenmoneymakingideas.com
>youngbiz.com
>myownbiz.brooklynpubliclibrary.org -
Step 2
Find a job:- This a common sense, but really find one. Being lazy isn't gonna get you anywhere. The excuse that there are none is simply same as saying in other words, I am timid and don't want to do job. Places where you've got yourself some chances of getting a job are:
>Library.
>Shops around neighbour.
>School.
>Community Service.
>Car Wash, Baby sitting, Lawn mowing, etc.
>Distributing Newspapers/Cards. -
Step 3
Volunteer if impressing a college is your goal, only... Finding a work as a volunteer is apparently gonna be more easier than finding a job. Since you will be working for no money. But in the mean while you will be gaining experience which colleges would love to look in you. So keep it as a option, and in many cases you can find a place and work where you may love to work. Like if you're into computer programming, you may want to volunteer for some non-profit org. and help them build their website- consequently adding stuff in your would-be portfolio.

Step 4
Is SAT, ACT, REGENTS are coming? If yes, then you may be better of putting them as a top priority on a summer to-do list. Study for these test. Visit websites such as Collegeboard.com, regentsprep.org, sparknotes.com. I am telling you if you study and get good numbers in SAT, lets suppose, then repay will surpass all jobs you may find in summer. But again you know yourselves better.
