Step 1
Wash your hair thoroughly with your favorite brand of shampoo and conditioner. Rinse, make sure that you have gotten all of the hair products out of your hair.
-
Step 2
Next brush out your hair with a pick or a comb to prepare to use your flat iron, do not use a brush to comb your hair while it is wet. Using a comb or a small pick will help to prevent you from getting split ends in your hair. Part your hair as usual (the way that you wear it when it is dry).
-
Step 3
Now add any hair products to your hair that you would normally use. I use Dove straight and soft. I also use Biosilk, silk therapy.
-
Step 4
Use a blow dryer and a paddle brush while blow drying your hair. If you feel uncomfortable using a brush while blow drying then use your fingers to help manage your hair while blow drying. I find that both techniques are effective. Remember your are going to use a flat iron to style it eventually, so do not worry to much if it does not seem to look just right.
-
Step 5
After you have finished blow drying your hair allow time for heat to escape your hair. I usually wait about a minute. Part your hair into a low thin layer and straighten your hair with a flat iron. Repeat and continue this step until you have done your whole head of hair. The number of layers you have will depend on the thickness of your hair.
-
Step 6
Finally you are ready for the last step, which is to use hair products like shine spray and spritz to help hold your hair in the shape and style you have created.
