The Adsense channels tool in Google will help you increase the efficiency and effectivity of your Adsense advertising. Google Adsense is one of the best ways to make money from advertising on your websites, blogs and articles. In order to maximize your efforts and get the most money for your work, you need to know how much Adsense income individual sources are generating. The basic Adsense reports show how much you are making from all of your Adsense sources, but if you want to maximize the performance of individual sources you need to see how much each source is making on its own.

This is where Adsense channels come in. Adsense channels allow you to track individual URLs so you can see how well each is performing. Follow these steps to set up Google Adsense channels and start optimizing the performance of your websites individually.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Google Adsense Account
  1. Step 1

Log into your Google Adsense account.

  2. Step 2

Click on the ‘Advanced Reports’ tab.

  3. Step 3

Click on the ‘Manage Channels’ link under the ‘Show’ section.

  4. Step 4

Click on the ‘URL Channels’ link.

  5. Step 5

Click on the ‘Add new URL channels’ link. A box will open up for you to enter your URL.

  6. Step 6

Copy the URL of the blog page, article or website that you would like to track individually and paste it into this box. Copy the whole URL including the ‘http://’ part.

  7. Step 7

    Click the ‘Add Channels’ box.

  8. Step 8

Now you can generate reports to track the performance of each individual Adsense source. To see a report for an individual Adsense channel, go back to the ‘Advanced Reports’ tab, check the box for ‘Channel data’ under ‘Show’, check the box for the ‘Active URL Channel’ you would like to see and click ‘Display Report’.

Use this to see what sources bring in the most money and what content you should focus your work on. The individual reports can also be used to see which pages are performing well as they are and which ones need to be improved to maximize Adsense earnings.

Tips & Warnings
  • Set up individual adsense channels for all of your websites so you can see which ones are performing and which ones need work.
  • Google Adsense only allows you to track 200 Adsense channels so if you have more websites or articles than that you will have to choose which 200 you want to track
  • For eHow writers - you cannot track the performance of individual eHow articles since all of the Google Adsense revenue goes to eHow and is then distributed to the writers. You can track individual article performance through your eHow account.
