Vacuum attachments allow you to use your vacuum in small spaces, corners and even on curtains or drapes. There are various attachments, from the traditional brush attachment that cleans your upholstery to blind attachments that clean window blinds. These attachments save time and can last for years with the proper care. Here are the steps you'll need to follow to clean your attachments and ensure they work to their full potential.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Vacuum attachments
  • Broom or mop
  • Air hose
  • Scissors
  • Water hose
  1. Step 1

Detach all attachments from the vacuum and lay them out. Take apart any long attachments that are made from separate pieces.

  2. Step 2

Use the handle of a broom or mop to push clogged debris out of the hose attachments.

  3. Step 3

Use an air hose to blast out dirt and debris from the attachments. This works well with small attachments that a broom handle will not fit inside.

  4. Step 4

Turn the brush attachment so you can see underneath. Cut debris and hair loose, and replace the attachment if it is worn out or broken.

  5. Step 5

Spray out plastic vacuum attachments, such as hoses, with a water hose. Allow them to dry completely before using them again.
