Storing jewelry properly is the key to keeping it intact and looking new. An earring holder can keep the small, delicate pieces of jewelry organized and prevent them from being lost or damaged when stacked. You can create a wooden earring holder at home.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Wooden frame
  • Paint
  • Stickers
  • Markers
  • Mesh wire
  • Stapler
  1. Step 1

Choose either a frame already painted and decorated or a natural wood frame to which you can add your own touch with paint, stickers or a marker. Remember, you can always paint over the wood and remove the stickers.

  2. Step 2

Measure the opening of the frame, adding about 1/2- inch to each side, to determine how big a piece of wire mesh you need. Cut the wire mesh with wire cutters to fit the opening.

  3. Step 3

Turn the frame over and staple the wire mesh across the back. Apply the staples to every corner of a smaller frame, or every 2 to 3 inches of larger frames.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you purchase a hanging frame, screw hooks to the bottom so you can also store bracelets and necklaces. Make two separate frames, one for everyday earrings and another for earrings you wear on special occasions. A wooden earring holder can make a thoughtful present. Attach a new pair of earrings to make it even more special.
