How to Make Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Brownies

Brownies are a relatively simple dessert to make. Using chocolate chip cookie dough with brownies enhances the look and flavor of a well-known, all-American, dessert.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Brownie mix:
  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 4 squares of unsweetened chocolate
  • Chocolate chip cookie mix:
  • 16 oz. pack chocolate chip cookie mix
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1 egg
  • Frosting:
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 12 oz. semisweet chocolate chips
  1. Step 1

    Chop 4 squares of unsweetened chocolate. Pour the chocolate into a microwave-safe bowl and add 2/3 cup of butter.

  2. Step 2

    Place the bowl in the microwave and heat for 2 to 3 minutes to melt the chocolate and butter. Stir the mixture until it is smooth.

  3. Step 3

    Beat in 2 cups of sugar and 4 eggs. Mix in 1 1/4 cups of flour and 1 tsp. of baking powder.

  4. Step 4

    Pour the mixture into a greased 13" x 9" baking pan.

  5. Step 5

    Follow the directions on the pack to make the chocolate chip cookie mix. Add 1 egg, 1/4 cup peanut butter and 1/2 cup of butter.

  6. Step 6

    Pour the chocolate chip batter onto the chocolate mixture in the baking pan. Spread evenly and lightly press the batter into the chocolate mixture.

  7. Step 7

    Preheate oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Place pan in oven and bake for approximately 20 minutes or until the edges of the brownie looks dry. Place the brownie on a wire rack to cool.

  8. Step 8

    Make the frosting. Mix 1/2 cup of peanut butter and 12 oz. of chocolate chips in a saucepan. Stir until blended and then cover the cooled brownies with the frosting.

  9. Step 9

    Cut into bars when the frosting is set and serve.

Tips & Warnings
  • Turn your oven to the required temperature at least 10 minutes before you need it so that it is adequately heated when you are ready.
