A backpack vacuum cleaner is a handy piece of technology that allows you to clean without hauling a heavy vacuum around behind you. There is no pushing or pulling required with this vacuum. Simply slip it on your back and go. Always be safe when using a backpack vacuum cleaner and wear it properly. This will prevent unnecessary injuries from improper use of the backpack vacuum. Here's how to properly wear your backpack vacuum so you can clean in style.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Use a backpack vacuum that is light enough and small enough for you to easily walk around with. If you are straining or feel pain when wearing the backpack vacuum, it is too heavy.

  2. Step 2

Slide each arm through the proper strap on the backpack and adjust the straps so the backpack is pressed firmly against your body and the weight feels balanced. Let it sit in the middle of your back.

  3. Step 3

Loosen the straps if they are digging in to your shoulders. The backpack should not slide around excessively, but it should have enough room to adjust as you turn. The backpack should be comfortable to wear, not tight.

  4. Step 4

Avoid bending over while wearing the backpack vacuum cleaner. The various attachments for the vacuum are designed so you can reach different areas without having to bend or stoop. If you cannot reach the floor, buy a longer attachment or use a traditional vacuum cleaner.

  5. Step 5

Check the straps on the backpack before use to make sure they are not broken or tearing.

  6. Step 6

Fasten the waist strap around your waist, if the backpack vacuum has one. Adjust it so it fits firmly but is not tight or uncomfortable.

Tips & Warnings
  • Never wear the backpack vacuum on only one shoulder. This can cause back or shoulder injuries.
