Wearing a lace wig is a great alternative to a traditional wig. The lace wig utilizes a European laced base that can be purchased to match your skin tone. When the lace wig unit is installed, it gives the appearance of a natural hairline. With a lace wig, you can part your hair anywhere you like, whereas traditional wigs have limitations. The wigs have become a popular trend among Hollywood celebrities, but are also worn by individuals experiencing hair loss due to medical treatments or genetics.

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Braid your natural hair to secure it close to your head. If you have longer hair, you can also secure it by wrapping your hair around your head. Use bobby pins to hold the hair in place.

  2. Step 2

Place the lace wig unit on your head and position it exactly as you would like it to fit. Be careful not to pull the lace too hard, as it can easily be torn.

  3. Step 3

Cut off the excess lace, making sure that the lace is cut all the way back to your natural hairline for a more natural look. Use an eyebrow pencil to lightly outline where the lace ends.

  4. Step 4

Remove the lace wig from your head and use the glue brush to apply a thin layer of beta bond to the outlined area on your skin. Allow the beta bond to dry to a tacky film. This will take about 10 minutes.

  5. Step 5

Place the lace wig unit back onto your head. Beginning at the front forehead area, press the lace down onto the beta bond, working your way around to the sides. You can use the back of your comb to press the lace down if you don't want the tacky glue to get onto your hands.

  6. Step 6

Style your lace wig as desired once the unit has been applied.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you accidentally get adhesive on your natural hair, immediately spray oil sheen onto the hair to remove the glue. Also use oil sheen to remove excess glue that may get onto your hands during the installation process.
