1. Check the pricing. While not fool-proof, it is helpful. Most Cartier glasses are priced in the $200 range. If your glasses are much less expensive than that, red flags should go up. 2. Authenticate the serial number of the glasses. The serial number will be in gold print under the nose bridge, and should be difficult to read with the naked eye.

3. Check the screws. Cartier uses only metal screws. Screws made of plastic or any other material except metal are a true sign of a fake.
