How to Properly Hang the Confederate Flag
The Confederate flag is a combination of the Naval Jack and Battle Flag used by the rebelling states during the American Civil War. Many southern states adopted the use of the flag at various points in their history and it has become a controversial symbol of pride to those who live there. As the flag represents an attempted nation, when hung it is expected to be given the same respect and treatment as any national flag. Does this Spark an idea?

Proper Hanging Display
-
1
Carefully unfold your Confederate flag, being sure not to allow it to touch the floor as this is considered disrespectful.
-
2
Place the flag on the wall or mantle to which you wish to secure it. If the flag has holes for flagpoles, they should be located at the top of the display.
-
-
3
Secure the flag with pins or double-sided tape, depending on the surface. The flag should be located to the speaker's left if displayed with the U.S. flag, or the right if displayed with a state flag, other nation's flag, or no additional flags.
-
4
Inspect the flag to verify that it is hanging level and does not reach the ground or any elevated platform.
-
5
Remove the flag once the presentation or other use of it is completed and refold it as it was unfolded. Usually it will be folded using the same triangle technique as the U.S. flag.

First remember the stars. According to official regulations of the Confederate Congress, the stars were mullets - 5 pointed stars. When you hang your Navy Jack (or Square Battleflag) make sure the mullets (again, 5 pointed stars not the haircut) have 1 point going up. If you have 2 points going up then it is upside down. Also, the States did not rebel they lawfully seceded.
