How to Get a Job at Stores like Hollister, American Eagle and Ambercrombie
Stores like Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister and American Eagle regularly hire because employees serve on a temporary basis. Thus, it is not as difficult as you may think to work at these trendy types of clothing stores. The trick to getting a job is not appreciably different than other stores but you do want to keep a few pointers in mind.

Complete an application either on the Internet or in the store. Most of the in-store applications are completed on a computer as well.

Act naturally, whether your interview is one-on-one or in a group. Maintain a nice, confident and positive attitude.

Wear appropriate clothing. Do not wear a business suit, because the atmosphere in these stores is more relaxed. Wear what the hip kids are wearing, preferably the brand of that same store. After all, the dress code will strictly be the store brand. Thus, if you work at Ambercrombie, expect to wear a lot of Ambercrombie.

Do not make a personal visit unless you are prepared to spend some time. Some of these stores have been known to give on-the-spot interviews.

Show a lot of interest in the job with pertinent questions without becoming a nuisance. Ask questions that demonstrate you want to keep the job a long time. For example: “I know this job is part-time, but is there opportunity for advancement if a full-time position should open?” “Is there a raise in pay after you've been with the company for a certain time?”

Smile a lot and be friendly. Don't wear too much makeup, cologne or perfume. Be stylish, current and show that you know what is fashionable today.

Contrary to popular belief, you need not be super good-looking to get a job at these places. Just be yourself, friendly, positive and clean.
If you don't succeed, try again at a different location or store.
