Step 1
Record the facts and symbols from memorable dreams to get an interpretation. If you wake up remembering your dreams and have the feeling that a dream is important, write it down.
Describe the dream topic, the characters, any activities, symbols, animals, the beginning and the end of the dream etc. Also, define your feelings during the dream and after waking up. -
Step 2
Find a dream interpretation database or a dream dictionary. Many of these are available for free online. You can also buy a dream interpretation book for periodic reference. Find the interpretation for the symbols, characters, feelings and any other details from your dream.
Record the different possible meanings of your dream. Compare two or three dream interpretation sources to validate the meanings. -
Step 3
Analyze the meanings of your memorable dreams. Determine if there is any relevance to people or to situations in your life, or if the dream is totally irrelevant. Don’t worry too much if you find negative meanings to your dream, it’s only a dream.
Note if your state of being, such as having certain worries or being angry may have caused your dream. -
Step 4
Validate the dream interpretation. Go back in a few weeks or a few months and re-read your notes about the dream and about the possible meanings. Determine if the dream correctly predicted outcomes or circumstances in your daily life.
If you find that recording and analyzing your dreams is helpful, make it a habit to take notes of your memorable dreams and keep a dream diary.
