How to Make Shrimp Barbecue Skewers
Nothing beats grilling out in the summer, and if you have kids (or just like eating with your fingers), there are few grilled foods quite as much fun as barbecue skewers. These shrimp kabobs will soon be your family's favorite.

1
If you have a charcoal barbecue grill, prepare the grill. (If it's gas and it goes on instantly, you can prepare the skewers first.)
-
2
Cut the onions into chunks. The size depends on how your family feels about onions, but they bring a great taste to the shrimp in large chunks.
-
-
3
Cut the lemons into wedges -- six wedges per lemon. Then cut wedges in half lengthwise so you have 12 pieces of lemon.
-
4
Marinate the shrimp if you'd like, but it isn't necessary.
-
5
If the pineapple isn't already cut, cut it into large chunks.
-
6
Arrange the barbecue skewers. Start with a piece of onion, then add a lemon wedge (make sure to poke the skewer through the lemon rind so it stays on the stick), then a shrimp, then a pineapple chunk. Repeat in order to the end of your skewer. This can be really fun to do as a family.

7
Barbecue skewers until done. It doesn't take long, but how long it takes will depend on how hot your grill is (and whether you like your bbq dark). Let the onions get nice and roasted, and singe the pineapple slightly for the best flavor.
-
8
Serve with a big salad. Squeeze the lemons over the shrimp, and enjoy!

Tips & Warnings
Barbecue skewers are great for young kids and picky eaters. Everyone can just eat the parts they like, which makes them perfect for feeding lots of relatives with different tastes.
After enjoying the barbecue shrimp kabobs, wash and reuse the barbecue skewers for roasting marshmallows over the grill for s'mores.
