slice an Avocado easily

Avocado a day will keep the mind sharp and the body healthy. I have a least one avocado day or every other day. Slicing an avocado can be a challenge because of the slipperiness. Try these few helpful tips the next time you what an avocado and see how easy it will be to slice.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Sharp knife
  • Cutting board
  • Spoon
  1. Step 1

Slice your avocado lengthwise. Place your avocado on a cutting board. Using a sharp knife cut your avocado in half, work your way around the pit. Separate the two sections.

  2. Step 2

Get rid of the pit. Remove the pit of the avocado with the tip of your knife. You can cut slightly around the pit and working the tip of your knife underneath to be able to grab it.

  3. Step 3

Cut each half in a quarter: Turn your avocado facing inside up and slice down the middle. Repeat with the other half.

  4. Step 4

Scoop up with your spoon: Take your spoon, start at the tip of the quarter slice of avocado, and scoop it out. You should have four (skinless) quarter avocado sections.

  5. Step 5

Slice your avocado sections in thinner sections or you can dice into squares to add to your salad. Yummy!

Tips & Warnings
  • To get an avocado to soften quicker put it in a brown paper bag.
