Do you have a tough spot to water in the garden? How about making your own homemade drip watering container which will water plants in those hard to reach spots. Using this container will help conserve water by using the drip watering method.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Plastic gallon size milk jug
  • Sharp knife or scissors to cut the milk jug
  • Ice pick
  • Small rocks or stones
  1. Step 1

Clean a plastic 1 gallon milk jug.

  2. Step 2

Cut the top of the jug using a sharp knife. Use caution when cutting the jug as the knife is sharp.

  3. Step 3

Puncture holes around the lower half of the jug. Puncture only the bottom half of the jug sides using the ice pick.

  4. Step 4

Place the jug where it will water the garden plants.

  5. Step 5

Fill the base of the jug with small rocks or stones. The rocks are put in the jug to keep it from falling over or blowing away in the wind so you don't have to fill the jug completely. Put in enough rocks to weight the jug down. Fill the jug with water. Refill jug as necessary.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use care when cutting the top of the milk jug off the carton.
  • Use care when poking holes in the jug with the ice pick.
