Autographs from Hollywood!

Collecting celebrity autographs is a very fun and rewarding hobby for adults and children alike. And with the use of the internet, it’s never been easier to receive authentic autographed photos and memorabilia right in your mail.

There is no need to pay for an autograph—when most stars are willing to send their autographs to you for free. Here’s how to get your favorite authentic celebrity autographs:

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A reliable source for locating valid celebrity addresses
  • Stationery
  • SASE
  1. Step 1

Find a reliable mailing address for your favorite celebrity by performing a web search or use my favorite source The Star Tiger (see resource section at the end of this article).

  2. Step 2

Next, determine what you would like your star to sign. Some celebrities provide their own photos and will not consider signing anything else, while other stars are open to autographing photos or memorabilia that you supply.

  3. Step 3

Write a good but brief letter. It’s best not use cookie cutter type letters, but be sincere and mention what you specifically like about your celebrity. For example, mention a favorite movie scene or concert performance. Don’t forget to close the letter by asking for the autograph and thanking the celebrity.

  4. Step 4

Include a large enough SASE (self-addressed stamped envelope) to accommodate the autograph. Most celebrities will appreciate this—while a few will use their own postage and envelope. Including a SASE will increase your odds of receiving a response.

  5. Step 5

Be patient. Some autographs will arrive in your mail in as little as two weeks. Others may take a year or more. And a few may never come at all.

Tips & Warnings
  • Some celebrities receive huge volumes of mail and can’t individually sign each piece. In those cases they may use a copy of their signature.
  • Don’t be creepy by getting too personal in your letter.
  • When sending photos or memorabilia, realize that you may never see them again. Send only what you can afford to lose.
