How to Create Songs on Guitar Hero
One of the biggest features in Guitar Hero: World Tour is the new "Music Studio" mode. This mode allows you to create your own custom Guitar Hero songs, complete with parts for all instruments (except vocal) This mode is designed so even the most novice of players can create their own tunes.

1
Start up Guitar Hero: World Tour by powering up your console (Wii, PS3 or Xbox 360) and waiting for the main menu to appear. From the main menu, select "Music Studio."
-
2
Set the tempo. This refers to the time signature for the song and will affect how fast or slow the song moves. The game's tutorial will help you decide on a time signature based on the song genre you wish to create. However, you have the final word, so if you want a fast-paced love ballad, then you have the freedom to do so.

3
Decide on a key. The key determines how high or low notes sound. Since there are only five buttons to push, deciding on a key is very important. You can test out the various keys by scrolling through the menu and toggling the game's input.
-
4
Select a sound for your instrument. Although you can have your guitar sound like just a plain guitar, you also can add metal inflections or synthesizer sounds to the instrument, like those that would be added in a production studio.
-
5
Create notes for your selected instrument. Once you have selected all the customization options, you are finally ready to start composing your song. Simply press the buttons corresponding to the notes you want for your song. You are free to slow down the time or go back and edit notes during your song. You also can use the "Loop" section to copy and paste repeated note patterns.
-
6
Add notes for different instruments. Once you have laid down your first track (whether it be bass, guitar or drums) you then can add additional tracks to help flesh out the song. Simply highlight the track you want to add, then press "Confirm" to start the creation process again with the new instrument.
-
7
Finish the song. Add equalizer effects to the individual songs, then quit to the music studio main menu. You will see your unfinished song in the list of available songs. Simply select it and then choose "Publish" from the in-game menu. Once you have finished creating your song, you also can upload it to the Guitar Hero: World Tour server so others can play your songs by selecting "Upload to Servers" from the menu.
